My Journey Update

It has been a year since I have wrote a post. Life gets busy or I don't know what to write so I go so long without posting. I have not been able to make any check marks off my bucket list this year, since I have been busy with school and completing my summer internship. I graduate from Boise State in December. I can't wait and hope it comes quickly. Right now I am on the fence on what to do next, get a job in Boise or move back home. I have grown to feel that Boise is too big for me and the time it takes to get from point A to point B for me is frustrating and long. I miss the feel of being able to walk out my door and walk to work or to the store. But, I know that PA doesn't have a lot of job opportunities or the support I need if the time comes I need accommodations.

I created my own design of an ABC book that is in English with Braille to show my niece and nephew what its like to read Braille and to help them understand that I might need Braille some day. My nephew loves to learn new things so he found it exciting. The book is made with my Cricut craft machine and I just put the pieces together. I use clear plastic label sheets for the Braille and place it over the English parts of the book. It has been a long process designing the book and proofing. I am proud of what I have created and I have sold a few of them.

My vision is worse in my left eye as I find myself running into walls and doors more around the house or when I am not using my cane. I don't know for sure how much I lost until I have a vision field test. My migraines have improved a lot since I got daith piercings in both ears. Not only has it cut my migraines down about 80%, but it also decreased the intensity of the pain and the length of having one. It has made me not feel as discouraged about going back to work. I was having them so frequently that I knew it would effect my daily life and being able to work full time.

I will post a video of my book soon!
