I had no idea what to expect at this store other than it was two levels and animals everywhere. Everyone would say how great this store was because of all the stuff they carry and the animals. The night before I was not able to sleep so I did some pre shopping to figure out what I would want to buy with my gift card...well that was not hard to decide! It was an easy choice, a new sweatshirt that was cameo with Cabela's in pink! Keep in mind that my mom has been trying to get me to not wear them since she thinks they are not flattering and she hates when I wear them. And I just threw my last one away. Well this just made me want it more! HA!
Christine and I were following the directions that we got from MapQuest, lets just say that it tells you to go the wrong way. I had seen the store from the high way and when we got off the exit, MapQuest was taking us farther from it and we couldn't locate the street that it told us to turn on. We finally gave up and pulled up GPS on her iPhone. Turns our that we were suppose to turn left off the exit not right. Stupid MapQuest! It take 15 minutes of precious time I could have used at the store! :)
My first reaction when I saw the store as we came over the hill was, "Wow, this store is huge and are we going to get through the whole thing in an hour!" People around us probably thought we were crazy when we yelled we made it when we got out of the car, but we didn't care. We posed infornt of the store taking picture to document another check mark of the list! As we walked in, we were greeted and asked if we had ever been there and my friend answered because I was too busy starring at everything around me and making sure I wasn't running into anything! (Yes, I was using my cane and I have proof!)
The first stop was the sweatshirt section to see if I could find the one I found online. They didn't have the zip up one I wanted nor the pull over. I was sad but knew I could find another. I decided to wait and see the store before deciding. We went to the middle of the store were there was a waterfall with different animals all around. I couldn't believe how big some of them were. I instantly said, "Christine, picture!!!" We then walked around the first floor and found the shooting area. I got really excited when we saw the shooting game area. I kicked Christine's butt! Yes, this blind girl won and funny thing is that I didn't realize I was suppose to be aiming at the red lights until after I was done. I was just trying to aim at the target sign which was hard enough! I could have spent my whole hour there, but didn't. We did Elongated coin machine that put the Cabela's logo for a souvenir of our adventure. We started the second level, took more pictures and realized that it had been an hour! We didn't finish the second floor but I was satisfied.
I went back to the sweatshirt section and found one that I liked. We then found a shot glass for Christine, she collects them. As we were getting in the car and getting ready to leave, I looked at the picture I had of the sweatshirt I wanted on my phone and realized, "Wow, I'm dumb, the one I got was the one I wanted!" In the picture I couldn't see the establish year under the Cabela's so I was looking for one without it. I got the one I wanted!!
When I got home I had the sweatshirt on, first thing my mom said was, "I just got you to throw away your last one and you bought another one! But it is cute." Haha, I win!!
Thank you Christine for driving me there and sharing the adventure! Thank you Rachel for the gift card so I was able to get my sweet sweatshirt!
