On Saturday, I experience paintballing by fighting in the Zombie Apocalypse of Boise! My cousin, Tia, gave it to me as a birthday gift. She wanted to help me check off an item on my bucket list. Her daughter, Leavell, joined the fun with me along with her boyfriend, Dylan, and my cousins, Alanna (and Simon her boyfriend), Shyanne and Carson. Tia, thank you so much for the experience! It was a blast and was full of laughter!
You started out by sitting in a tent with signs of types of guns that will be used and signs that say beware zombies with your container of ammo. Then out of no where a video comes on, it was like a news channel explaining what is happening in Boise and areas around that are under attack of a virus. It had clips of zombies attacking different areas and taking out the news reporters. They did a good job putting together the video and using actual pictures of the surrounding areas like the Capital building and downtown Boise. Once the video ended, a guy dressed in Army gear comes in with a paintball and tells us to hurry out of the back of tent. We crowed around him and he yells say goodbye to your love ones and lets move out! We then go through a trail through the corn field, until we get to a clearing where there are hay barrels. He goes around asking each of us if we are still human. Then he explains how the whole thing works and how to use our guns.

The bus has music blasting and it starts to go slowly through the corn field. It reaches a clearing that has a scene set up and you just start shooting not realizing that real people playing the zombies are coming out from the sides, we knew there were people they just snuck up on us! They come running towards the bus and grabbing through the window as you are trying to shoot at them! The paint would splatter on them and on you as they are trying to get in your window. It scared Leavell every time! We were at the scene for about 30-60 seconds and then the bus would move on to the next scene and we would be under attack again! At the first scene there was a couch and a zombie person sitting in it but he was so still that he looked like a fake person. Oh no! After a couple seconds of shooting he jumps up and runs towards the bus, we screamed! Such good times, I kept laughing through out it all!
There were about six different scenes that we drove up to and we noticed that the zombies were the same people. Poor guys! There were trails for them to run through to get to each scene. I don't know how they took all that shooting over and over. There was two-three guys on our side of the bus. One of them grabbed the barrel of my gun and held it on his forehead. I shook my head no! I kept saying no, I don't want to shoot you in the head! He kept it there and shook his head yes! Finally I gave in and shot once! Crazy guy!! We went into this not knowing what really happens, we didn't know how the bus worked or how we could shoot the zombies. Well there were no rules to where we couldn't hit and it makes sense since there were coming very close to the bus.
